FAQ's
People want to know:
How does the filter work?
The filter element is made from activated carbon. Hundreds of tiny sheets of carbon are entrapped into a casing, absorbing microplastics, chemicals, dirt and toxins before it reaches you.
The filter has to be changed every 300L. If you are using your Hydroco on a daily basis, we recommend changing the element every 2 month.
To change the filter, you simply remove it from the inside of the straw by twisting anti-clockwise, then twist the other way to fit the new one.
Will a Hydroco actually keep my water cold?
Our bottles are made from SUS grade Japanese stainless steel, with a 5 layer thermal shell for maximum insulation, specifically so Hydroco bottles can hold current temperature for up to 24 hours.
There is no weather too warm for a Hydroco, meaning it really is suitable for any adventure.
What if I want to use my bottle for liquids other than water?
In this case, just remove the filter element from the inside of the straw, keep it safe, and use your Hydroco like you would any other bottle. When you want clean, filtered water again, simply re-attach the filter element and away you go.
How do I clean my Hydroco?
Our bottles are fully dishwasher safe, however it is critical that you remove the filter element prior to putting your bottle in the dishwasher.
Because the filter is made from activated carbon, sometimes tiny specs of carbon can rise up to the straw and mouthpiece. These are completely safe and normal, all of our bottles come with metal straw cleaners, so use the straw cleaner to remove any carbon specs.
