The activated filter in Hydroco bottles uses advanced carbon filtration to effectively remove contaminants from water. When water passes through the filter, tiny carbon granules trap impurities, such as chemicals, sediments, and metals. This not only improves the taste of the water but also ensures it is safe to drink. The filter has a lifespan of 60L (generally 2 months or 300 refills), after which it can be replaces to continue enjoying clean, fresh water.

While Hydroco's filtered water bottles are effective for many natural water sources, such as rivers, lakes, and streams, it's important to avoid using them with saltwater, chemically contaminated water, or stagnant water. The filter is designed to remove many impurities but is not capable of desalinating water or neutralising heavy industry chemicals.

The filter in a Hydroco bottle should be replaced every 300 refills or approximately every 2 - 3 months, depending on usage frequency. If you notice a decrease in water flow or a change in taste of the water, it's likely time to replace the filter. Replacement filters are available on our website (under "Shop") and can be installed in just a few seconds.
